At the restaurant you will be welcoming and thanking guests, answering questions
accurately and politely, maintaining a clean and organized waiting area, escorting guests to
their tables, answering phones, cleaning surrounding area, sweeping the floor and
providing outstanding guest service. The Host/Hostess is the initial contact with the guests.
Therefore, it is essential to start guests off with a positive experience at the front door.
Communicating professionally with co-workers and guests will be expected in all positions
in the restaurant. In all positions at the Morgan's Pier Restaurant you must have the ability
and willingness to work on your feet for long periods of time and to think and act quickly.
All positions will be responsible for light cleaning and other duties as assigned by supervisor
or manager.
Required duties:
- Opening doors for guests.

Your exact position at the Morgan's Pier Restaurant will be determined upon arrival andafter attending training. Position assignment in the restaurants will depend on your skills and abilities.
Food Runners:
usually work as assistant to the wait-staff and are required to deliver food to the tables. They may be required to answer questions about the food. Food runners do notonly serve food. They are required to perform some secondary tasks such as cleaning
tables, bussing tables, filling glasses, taking out trash.
Bussers:
clean tables, taking plates, utensils and drinkware to the kitchen to be washed, make sure diners' water glasses are full, and reset tables for the next service. Bussers might help waiters and waitresses bring food out to a table, restock utensils, napkins and other dining room needs.They are required to perform some secondary tasks such as taking out trash, sweeping, mopping floors.
Bar Backs:
are the bartenders' assistant. They work behind the bar next to the bartenders. Get ice, prepare fruit, restock the bar with beer, liquor, wine, glassware, juices, etc. Make
sure that everything is at the bar and that there are enough backups for the shift, change
beer kegs, empty trash cans and get towels. Make sure that the bar is clean before opening it.
Food Prep Team:
When working as a part of the Food Prep Team you will be responsible for preparing food
items that will be served to the guests. All food items must be prepared quickly and according to set procedures.
Pay rate is $2.83 per hour + Tips when working as a Busser, Food Runner, or Barback but the employer guarantees at least $15.00 per hour. If you do not make enough in tips to equal $15.00 per hour the employer will pay the difference so that your hour total equals
$15.00 per hour.
Because this is a tipped position it is possible to make more than $15.00 per hour.
When working in the food prep/dishwasher positions the rate of pay is $15 per hour.
